People who imagine their own or loved one’s death often focus on being comfortable, calm, surrounded by their family and with a sense of completion. In this session our audience and panel will explore what gets in the way of this happening, what a ‘good death’ could look like from an ethical and medical perspective and what we can do to influence our personal and community’s future experiences.

Our panel includes Dr June Jones (Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Ethics and Law at the University of Birmingham), Lesley Goodburn, (founder of Purple Rainbow which raises awareness and fundraises for Pancreatic cancer in memory of her husband Seth Goodburn), Afeda Mohamed (Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital) and Sharon Hudson (Hospice Lead Community Nurse at St Mary’s Hospice and member of BrumYODO).
